During his career John Nash has started or financed a number of highly successful businesses.

John Nash

John was educated at Corpus Christi College, Oxford and after graduating he briefly practiced as a barrister before moving to work in the City of London. He worked at Lazards for 8 years before joining Advent Limited, of which he became Managing Director in 1987. In 1988 John set up Sovereign Capital, a venture capital firm which specialises in investing in service businesses in the UK, of which he is now a non-executive partner. In 2005 John established, with his wife Caroline, the charity Future. Future is the sponsor of Pimlico Academy where John is chairman. John is a former Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association.

During his career John has started or financed a number of highly successful businesses including the software company Borland International, the health and fitness business Esporta and Care UK (Chairman 1992-2010), a health care services business.

John is a Non-Executive Director of the Department for Education and was a member of HM Treasury’s Independent Challenge Group in relation to the Comprehensive Spending Review.

John Nash is a Foundation Fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford and a member of its Investment and Development Committees. He is a former Finalist Judge for the Prince of Wales Award for Innovation.
